STORY

Creative Disruption was an ENGAGE class at California College of the Arts.

Working with popuphood as the community partner, a cross-disciplinary group of students has worked in KONO this semester to leverage human-centered design to address larger issues around social and economic inequities. Through interactive interviews and creative engagement, student teams listened to and reflected on the voices of KONO’s varied stakeholders. The insights from these experiences inspired 5 tactical projects. In keeping with the class’ model of active engagement, these projects were launched as part of the May 2013 First Friday event to showcase what has been learned and open the door to the next phase of conversation around building a better KONO.
